👉 NB: The Evil Eye Ring is a classic Italian symbol of good luck and power. The dainty design is perfect for sending blessings and protection to family, friends, and loved ones. With various finishes, it’s time you get your hands on the Evil Eye Ring!

Have you experienced such an evil thought before, especially early at dawn? It can be thoughts about getting money, by all means, daydreaming on your ‘crush’ and many other conducts.

The most dangerous sin in Christian life happens in mind; evil thoughts. No one can see what’s happening in your mind and give you advice on it.

David wrote, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation (thoughts) of my heart be pleasing in your eyes, Oh Lord, my strength and redeemer -Psalm 19:14.

As a Christian, we always want to please God in every area of our life.

How to be in control of your mind in two simple steps

The Bible says in Ephesians 6:17, “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.”

The helmet of salvation is to protect our mind from evil thoughts the devil may try to feed us.

The devil is no respecter of a person; whether you’re a bishop or a cardinal, he can provide you with such an evil thought if you don’t put on your helmet of salvation.

The first step to being in control of your mind is to set a guard over your mind.

1. Guarding your mind

Thoughts and temptations can come to our minds from many different places. There are three primary sources:

how to be in control over your mind

a. From the world

What we see and hear from the world can create a feeling of evil thoughts in our mind.

Mostly if our heart is set on things of this world apart from God, we envy our neighbour because we have seen them becoming successful in life -thought of envy.

Looking at a woman lustfully also generate evil thoughts to lust after the person, and daydream to get her on bed -lustful desire.

Therefore, Jesus warned us not to love the world or anything in this world.

b. From our old sinful nature

Our old sinful nature is the Adamic nature in us that makes us a complete sinner. Romans 8:8 says, “Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.” So, our flesh will prompt us on this; it desires to get and transfer the impulse to our mind to ponder on it.

Therefore you need to control your emotions as it can lead you into sin.

c. From the devil

We should guide our mind against the devil and the spirit world. The only power the devil has is the power of influence. All he could do to a believer is to influence their mind through lies and deception. That’s why we need to set a guard over our mind.

However, just because a thought comes to our mind doesn’t mean we have to dwell on it. Unholy thoughts unchallenged-will lead to heretical words and deeds. We need, therefore, to cut them off short and replace them with holy thoughts.

2. Make Jesus Lord of your mind.

We can begin the day by asking God to keep our minds. When a wrong thought arises, He will then quickly let us know. One easy way to stop it short is to say:

“Lord Jesus, you see those thoughts too, and we are not going to give it any more time or attention, are we?

Talking to Jesus has superior stopping power. Our flesh hears it. The spirit world hears it. And this keeps you from carrying the thought on or coming under a false sense of guilt or condemnation.

Every Christian will have wrong thoughts at one time or another, but Jesus can be the Lord of our minds as well as our hearts.

Finally on how to be in control of your mind

” And now, brothers, as I close this letter, let me say this one more thing: Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about” (Phil. 4:8, TLB)

Make a decision positively and decisively not to entertain thoughts about moral uncleanness. The Bible says, “Watch over your heart (mind) with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.” -Proverbs 4:23

Not only must we set our will to be holy, but we must also “set a sentry” at the gates of our mind to keep our impure thoughts. If the enemy plants unclean thoughts in your mind, reject it outright.

1 Peter 1:13 says, “Gird up the lions of your mind.”

That means to bind the loose immoral thoughts and exercise control over them. Don’t let your mind become the devil’s garbage can.

As a man who commits himself to God’s service, you cannot afford to entertain thoughts of impurity.

They may enter uninvited, but you must throw them out as you would a thief or a murderer. If we consider impurity and moral compromise thoughts, we give Satan a foothold that could one day cause our downfall.

“For out of the heart (mind) of man proceed… adultery… fornications… these defile the man” -Matthew 15:19,2o.
