God Has Given Us The Victory Over Our Enemies

0

You will never walk in victory until you know your enemy is defeated! As Christians, we do not move from defeat into victory. We do not move from doubt into faith.

Our starting point for victory is not of defeat but of the victory Christ gave to us.

“But thanks be unto God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” 1Corintians 15:57

We can never be a winner as long as we see ourselves as helpless, hopeless victims of the devil. Satan no longer has the power or authority to defeat the sons and daughters of God’s royal family.

However, he does have the ability to deceive the children of God if they do not understand who they are in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 44:4-7

“4) You are my King, O God; Command victories for Jacob. 5) Through You, we will push down our enemies; Through Your name, we will trample those who rise against us. 6) For I will not trust in my bow, nor shall my sword save me. 7) But You have saved us from our enemies and have put to shame those who hated us.”

The believer today is being taught to make declarations of our faith against the circumstances of our lives. Jesus spoke to the fig tree.

He probably said it with no emotion or passion – a simple statement that Peter did not find that powerful, yet it worked. Jesus probably must have taken a different approach with the storms when they crossed to the other side, and that worked too.

In whatever mode, Jesus established that sometimes we have to speak to situations that want to be stubborn. If you have not, please start preparing your heart and faith to begin making utterances like this to whatever confronts you when you wake up every morning.

The Psalmist here is acknowledging the authority of God in situations like that. He recognises the power and sovereignty of God and His authority overall powers.

When we abide under God’s control, it is easier for us to make declarations with authority in His name. Don’t be like the seven sons of Sceva who spoke to the demons without the power of Christ covering them. You know the results of that incident.

Cultivate a life of honouring God for who He is and walking in humility before Him at all times, and you will find how easy it will be for you to speak with authority to the situations that want to harass your life.

PRAYER

Father, please help me stay under Your authority to have the audacity to command stubborn situations to obey.

CONFESSION

I declare that my God is above all the situations that harass my life. Elohim has lifted me above them all. Therefore, I stand in the authority of Jesus’ name and command them all to obey. I declare by divine power every situation that confronts me will bow to the rule of Jesus in my life
