We are new creatures in Christ Jesus. All things are made new when we received Christ in our life.
You started a brand new dimension of living when you accepted Jesus into your life.
I like the saying, “When you find Jesus Christ, life finds you!”
2 Corinthians 5:17-19
“17) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18) All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19) that God was reconciling the world to himself through Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed us to the message of reconciliation.”
Newness in Christ is one of the truths that we often struggle to accept as reality. After people have given their lives to Christ, they still indulge in habits and practices that make everyone question if they even know God. It is like nothing has happened to them.
What we have to understand is that the newness in Christ is not a human declaration. It is a divine execution. It is God Himself who baptizes you in Christ. In Christ, you are reconciled to God. It means that whatever has been following you for years loses their threats and ability to harm you.
The problem is that the beneficiaries of newness in Christ are the ones who do not know or have not come to real terms with the blessings of the shift from worldliness into Christ.
Your life as a Christian starts with the fact that God has accepted you. The past is all forgotten. God does not hold your past sins against you. He instead opens a new door for you to enter and enjoy the blessings that are yours. Walk on this clean plate God has given you.
