Faithfulness to God is the key to Kingdom greatness.

Faithfulness to God is the ultimate key to Kingdom greatness. In today’s Bible studies, we will discuss how it is essential to be faithful in our walk with God and how Jesus was able to remain faithful during his times on earth. Take your Bible as we dive right into our topic for today.

Faithfulness Meaning

Faithfulness is the concept of unfailingly remaining loyal to someone or something and putting that loyalty into consistent practice regardless of extenuating circumstances. It is the state of being full of faith in the sense of steady devotion to a person, thing, or concept.

Faithfulness comes from a place of trust and loyalty. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is a confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

Nehemiah 13:13
And I appointed as treasurers over the storehouse Shelemiah the priest and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah; and next to them was Hanan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah; for they were considered faithful, and their task was to distribute to their brethren.

Faithfulness to God determines how deep you love Him.

The phrase _ “for they were considered faithful” _should catch our attention. Being trustworthy, Loyal, or faithful is a character trait that God looks out for in His children. Faithfulness is the key to kingdom greatness.

The men Nehemiah appointed over the storehouses came from four different occupations, but they all shared the same important attribute: faithfulness.

They were dependable and responsible. Missionary writer Oswald Chambers once said:

“God has not called us to success but to faithfulness.”

How faithful you are in your walk with God will determine how great you are in the sight of God. Are you faithful to God in prayer, fasting, Tithing, Soul-winning, and service in your local church?

Unfaithful or disloyal people only manifest the trait of rebels. Your faithfulness is your visa to greatness. Don’t compromise it.

Be determined to be faithful and work hard at it. Faithful people catch the attention of Heaven always. Don’t be disloyal, Be faithful.

God wants us to remain faithful at all times and in all things. Faithfulness in God also helps believers stay steadfast in their marriages, workplace, finances, and the like.

faithfulness to God

Let us, in a glance, explore how Jesus was able to remain faithfulness in His time on earth and how we, too, can walk in into His nature.

Faithfulness to God during temptation

We are approved by God not based on our ministry’s success but rather based on our faithfulness in the temptations that we face in daily life.

The only two things stated about the thirty “silent” years of Jesus’ life (apart from the incident in the temple) are that “He was tempted in all points as we are and yet did not sin” – (Hebrews 4:15) and that “He never pleased himself” -(Romans 15:3)

He had faithfully resisted temptation at every point, and He had never sought His wishes, desires, or will in any matter.

Faithfulness to God at home

Jesus’ home was lacking. Joseph and Mary were so low that they could not afford to offer a lamb as a burnt offering. They didn’t have “prosperity-preachers” to teach them how to be rich.

The Law had commanded that “if she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons.” (Leviticus 12:8)

Luke 2:24 tells us that Joseph and Mary did according to the Law.

Jesus has at least four younger brothers and two sisters living with him in the same house. Mark 6:3 tells us that the people of His home town remarked concerning Jesus:

Is this not the carpenter, Mary’s son, and brother of James and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? Are not his sisters here with us?

One can imagine the pressures and struggles that Jesus faced as He grew up in that poor home.

They must have been the fighting, squabbling, and the selfish (typical to all homes) in that home too.

And amid such circumstances, Jesus was tempted in all points as we are; and He never sinned even once in a deed, word, thought, attitude or motive, or in any other way.

Faithfulness to God at work

As a carpenter in Nazareth, Jesus faced temptations that all who engage in any form of a business faced. But He would never deceive anyone to whom He sold anything. He would never demand too much for an article, and He would never compromise on any point of righteousness, whatever the cost (or less) to Him may be.

He only worked to earn His living. Thus, through buying and selling and handling money (as a carpenter), Jesus faced all the temptations that we face in the area of money. And He overcame.

MORAL LESSON: faithfulness to God is the key to kingdom greatness

Faithfulness is God’s essential requirement for elevation in His kingdom. Never lose your faithfulness and commitment.

Faithfulness is favorably mentioning throughout the Bible. Paul lists it as a ‘fruit of the Spirit’ (Galatians 5:22). Jesus puts faithfulness alongside justice and mercy and ‘the more important matters of the law’ (Matthew 23:23).

Mother Teresa said, ‘I do not pray for success. I ask for faithfulness.’

God’s faithfulness towards us gives us an example to follow in our relationships. Faithfulness is something we should strive for in marriage, friendships, and in our relationship with God.

PRAYER :

“LORD, please help us to be faithful always, walking the talk, not just talking the talk, in Jesus’ name.” AMEN!!!
